Starting to build out my vinyl collection a bit more with some of my old favorites, starting with REM’s finest achievement.

The album “Crime and Punishment” by Regional Justice Center. The paragon of hardcore punk rock brutality. Love it.

Listening: Bad Brains

November 27, 2022 by Franklin Morris

I’m a little ashamed that it took me so many decades to appreciate that Bad Brains is one of the all-time best punk bands.

LisTening: alina

November 25, 2022 by Franklin Morris

A beautiful and melancholy backdrop on a cold and rainy night.

“The family had broken up and the daughter went to England with her father. The work, dedicated to the daughter, was actually meant as a work of consolation for the girl's mother, missing her child. Its introspection calls to mind a vivid image of youth, off to explore the world.”

A classic favorite: to the lighthoUSe

November 25, 2022 by Franklin Morris

I read this in graduate school for a “bookshop” and it’s stayed with me ever since. This was actually the first Woolf I ever read. The middle section — “Time Passes” — is one of my favorite in all of literature.
